THE "S-MP" SAND-MANURE PROCESSING SYSTEM
|
This is our standard S-MP System. Sand-laden manure is pumped from the barn into the Primary Separator - SS 20 (tank 1). Sand settles out and is lifted up and into the Sand Washer/Scrubber - S/WS (tank 3). From tank 1, manure and sand flows to the Secondary Separator - SS 20 (tank 2) and sand settles out and is lifted up to tank 3.
Manure flows out of tank 2 through a pipe to long term manure storage or to a fiber recovery system. Sand is washed and scrubbed in tank 3, the S/WS, and lifted up an auger where it drops to a sand storage bay or directly into a sand bedding truck or wagon. Sand that has been processed with our Sand Washer/Scrubber (S/WS) is so clean that some farms are bedding with their recovered sand within hours. The facility in this photo can easily support a 1,000 cow facility but has been installed on a 400 cow farm. Take note that our system does NOT include, nor does it need a sand lane to recover the "fine sand" that other separation systems require. The fine sand recovery happens in tank 2. |
Filtered Manure Liquid Tank
The Clean Water Tank receives separated liquid from a drum separator which is placed directly on top of the Clean Water Tank. This water is used to promote sand separation in both the Primary and Secondary separation tanks. Tanks can be built to fit or sized to accommodate. |
Sand Room
This is the outlet from the S/WS Sand Washer/Scrubber. It is designed to be the only part of our S-MP System that enters into the sand room. The sand room can be designed to have a single pile of sand with no sand bays, or it can have as many sand storage bays as the farm needs when planning around a bedding cycle. The mechanical side of the building is designed to be clean, dry and warm year round. Sand is the only product that hits the floor. |
